Shroomin'

France loves mushroom season, and in La Creuse people take it very seriously. Certain mushrooms can be worth quite a bit of money, so people keep their knowledge to themselves!

Here are a few we have seen (the first three pictures were taken at our lake):


Below is a cep. This is a very sought-after 'shroom and is delicious. We got hold of this baby up at our lake.

The mushroom below is a wood blewit, which we picked on our walk, yesterday. Edible, and much sought after as it is one of a few mushrooms available late in the season
Saw this on our walk yesterday, not sure what it is, and doesn't look edible, or in any way appetising... at least I am not going to try it!
