Tour de France in La Creuse

The Tour de France came to town today (well nearly, it came to a town about 20k from us) and so we dutifully put down our paint brushes, and packed a meagre picnic, to ensure we could report the days events to you.

About an hour or so before the cyclists come you have a parade of sorts (basically a load of organisations – some making more effort than others – making use of the event to advertise their products, and chucking some freebies our way: hats, keyrings, etc). Below are some pictures of the best floats…

Meals on wheels?
Cheating, lazy, goodfornothing...
One for Ross. In France all the fireman use mineral water to put out fires...
Bin there, done that...
Got to love the laughing cow - surely a Limousin Cow?
Asleep at the wheel?
Don't know what is going on here - stuff of nightmares, I think...
What did you do today daddy? I dressed up as a glass of shandy, darling...
This guy was juggling bottles, but stopped as I took the picture...
Surely this guy is on steroids
Not just cycling - recycling too.

does my bum look big in this?
Why is there a man between the lions legs mummy?
hands in the air!

Big faced kid used as satellite dish?
Then the cyclists came. The first video shows the leaders. Blink and you will miss them, and wonder why I recorded a bunch of police vehicles, but I thought the others would be coming…

The video below is the rest of the pack and is more interesting than the above vid.
